今朝、成田空港で一生懸命書いた入国カードを使って、無事にオーストラリア・ブリスベンに到着しました。長時間のフライトにもかかわらず、子どもたちは朝から元気に頑張ってくれました。
現地校の Bethany Lutheran School では、まず校内の見学を行い、バディの友だちともすぐに打ち解けることができました。一緒に授業を受けたり、外でランチやおやつを楽しんだり、サッカーやハンドボールをして遊ぶ姿が見られました。
放課後には、一家庭ずつホストファミリーへの引き渡しを行いました。出会えたご縁を大切にしながら、それぞれのホストファミリーの一員として、たくさんの素敵な思い出をつくってほしいと思います。
ブリスベンは快晴で、過ごしやすい気候にも恵まれ、良いスタートを切ることができました。明日からの活動も楽しみです！

 

Australia International Exchange Program – Day 2: August 4

This morning, we arrived safely in Brisbane, Australia. Even after the long flight, everyone did their best.
First we went to Bethany Lutheran School. The students were able to look around the school and quickly became friends with their buddies. They joined classes, ate lunch and snacks outside, and enjoyed playing soccer and handball together!
After school, each student met their host family. We hope they will treasure this special relationship and make many wonderful memories with each other.
The weather in Brisbane was sunny and comfortable—perfect for our first day! We are excited for tomorrow and for the rest of our time in Australia.
