Today we finally were able to have the Showa English Speech Contest for last year’s first through third graders. They are now second, third, and fourth grader respectively as we kept having to postpone the speech contest from last year due to illnesses. It was a relief to finally be able to see the students give their presentations.
Each grade recited stories in small groups, each student doing a section from a story. The presenters give their speeches in Friendly Hall, which were broadcast live to their classmates’ classroom TVs. It was really difficult for the judges to judge this year as each student put in so much effort giving very beautiful speeches. Thank you to all the students who worked hard and waited for so long to give their speeches.
