During English Class on July 10th and July 13th, the fifth-graders participated in an online exchange with Daemo Elementary School in South Korea. After student representatives spoke about their schools, the class split into small groups to introduce themselves, conduct interviews, and share aspects of Japanese culture. Although the children were nervous at first, they quickly became friends as they asked each other questions. Finally, they sang “Do-Re-Mi” together in English, bringing class to an end with a fun and cheerful atmosphere.

Today was packed with so many activities that the children are exhausted! First we started the day with some stretching, then we went to breakfast. It was delicious! After that, we began skit practice and took pictures for the photo contest.  Each group was very creative and the native teachers were impressed. It was hard to pick a winner! Today the students were also tour guides for their teachers, we went to Sengen shrine and even though it started to rain- they did a fantastic job. They were able to educate the native teachers on proper shrine etiquette. Before the rain started, students also enjoyed some outdoor playtime. They had fun playing baseball, soccer, frisbee, looking for bugs and much more.Tomorrow is the last day of camp, and we cannot wait to watch each group perform their original skits! Please check our site tomorrow to find how they did!
