22日(土)は、今年度最後の授業参観日でした。最後の授業参観では1年間学んできたことを振り返って、がんばったことやできるようになったこと、自分の成長の様子、総合的な学習の時間に取り組んだ内容等を、一人一人がみんなの前で発表する「学習発表会」を行いました。実際にその場で〝できるようになったこと〟を披露したり、プレゼンテーションソフトを効果的に活用して分かりやすく発表したりしました。

また、コロナ禍で中止をしていた音楽発表会を復活させました。学年の仲間とのチームワークを発揮して取り組んだ合唱や演奏を、保護者様に聴いていただきました。（音楽発表会では学年職員も楽器や指揮を担当して、子どもたちの演奏に加わりました(^^)）

毎月第2･3金曜日の6時間目は、4年生以上が参加するクラブ活動の時間です。今年度は、全17のクラブ活動が開設されています。子どもたちは自分の興味関心でクラブを選び、1年間、仲間と思いきり〝好きなこと〟に取り組んでいます。

21日(金)の昼休みにダンスクラブが1年間の練習の成果を全校児童に披露しようと考えて、「ダンス発表会」を開催しました。会場の体育館にはたくさんの観客(子どもたち)が集まり、手拍子や拍手、歓声で大盛り上がりとなりました。

2月14日(金)に来年度の児童会選挙の立候補者と推薦人の演説を行い、その後、投票をしました。

「よりよい昭和学院小学校を創るために!!」 一人一人が真剣に想いを述べていました。

また、その演説を聴く４､５､６年生も真剣でした。特に6年生は昭和学院小学校を託す立場として、より真剣な表情と態度で臨みました。

みんなの前で堂々と演説を行った立候補者も推薦人も、とてもりっぱでした!!

Today the 1^st graders had their first ever Showa Elementary School Speech Contest along with the second graders. Each grade was divided into groups and assigned parts of each story by a raffle. The 2^nd graders read “Party in the Barn” and “Pinky the Pig”, while the 1^st graders ready “Mother Who Lives in a Boot” and “What I Saw”. Each student was evaluated based on five criteria: big voice, eye contact, speed, pronunciation, and originality. We could really see how hard everyone practiced and that everyone gave it their all. Everyone did a wonderful job. It was so difficult to choose first, second, and third place. We hope everyone will try their best again next year, too!

Today the 3^rd and 4^th graders competed in the English Speech Contest. The students were divided into groups via raffle. Each grade had two stories to choose from. The 3^rd graders performed ‘Peggy Makes Soup’ and ‘Too Much Pink’, and the 4^th graders performed ‘The Loveliest Stink’ and ‘With Blue’. Each student was judged on five criteria: big voice, eye contact, speed, pronunciation, and originality. Everyone practiced very hard and did very well. It was difficult to pick the winning participants. However, we are looking forward to everyone trying and performing again next year! Good job everyone, and thank you for participating!
