Today was the fifth and sixth grade English Speech Contest. Each student was judged on five criteria: big voice, eye contact, speed, pronunciation, and originality. Students were able to write their own speeches based on a few themes. The fifth graders wrote about their ‘likes and hobbies’ and the sixth graders wrote about ‘their dream’ or their ‘best memory’ from school. Overall, everyone did a wonderful job, including those in the audience! The English teachers and Principal Aoki were very impressed! Thank you to everyone who participated, and we look forward to the first through fourth grade speech contest in February as well.

Today, we had a Halloween party. Every student went around the school in their cleaning groups. They could play many games and go trick-or-treating.
Everyone had a great time and tried hard in English. Look forward to next year. Happy Halloween!
