On the evening of day 2 of English Camp, we did a photo contest. Each group took a picture which demonstrates the theme "The Memory of English Camp." Then we had a short speech explaining our picture. We really enjoyed both talking about pictures and listening to our friends' speeches!

This morning, we had morning exercise with our teachers. After breakfast, we learned phrases in different situations such as at the supermarket, hospital, and so much more. We also started practice for our English skit performance for tomorrow. After lunch, we played badminton, soccer, dodgeball, and baseball with our teachers outside. We even caught some bugs. In the afternoon, we visited Sengen Shrine. We introduced Japanese things like Omikuji, Torii, and Komainu to our English teachers. After that, we took a photo of our group for a photo contest and explained why we chose that picture.

We have just started our first day of English Camp 2023. First teachers introduced themselves. Then after our welcome speech, we gave our speech about our school including things like "dan" activities, school events, club activities, and school camps. Once the Opening Ceremony was finished, we were split into our English groups. We used a self-introduction notebook to talk about ourselves, and enjoyed a lot of activities like country quizzes, English games, and tongue twisters. Also we tried very hard to talk with many teachers as we could. We look forward to what's in store for us tomorrow.

体験教室 NEW
7月1日(土)、年長のお子さんを対象に小学校の教室での〝授業〟を体験していただく、体験教室を行いました。体験教室では、本校の1～3年生が実際に行っているプログラミングの学習を始め、ダンゴムシの観察、工作、英語やダンスなどの中から、最大3つのプログラムにご参加いただきました。
今日は、5年生が大活躍でした。各教室では年長のお子さんに積極的に声をかけながら活動を支援したり、受付をご案内したり、「オープニングセレモニー」では体験教室のことや小学校での学習を劇にして紹介したり、終了時には昇降口でお見送りをしたりしました。
ご来校の方に声をかけることについて、始めは緊張している様子でしたが、だんだん自信をもち、受付時間終了頃には、「次の方はぼくが案内する！」「ねえ、順番を代わって！」などと進んで役割を担おうとする姿がかわいかったです(笑)。このような行事を経験しながら、5年生も頼もしく成長しています。

7月の朝礼 NEW
来週は6年生のイングリッシュキャンプ、5年生の林間学校があるため、全校児童が集まることができません。そこで、今日はまだ6月ですが、7月の朝礼を行いました。
校長先生からは「品」の語源の紹介があり、昭和の子らしい〝品のよさ〟、「言葉遣い」「身だしなみ」「友達に優しく接する」などを意識して生活してほしいという話がありました。
生徒指導担当からは、7月の生活目標「約束を守って生活しよう」についての話がありました。学校には、様々な約束があります。例えば、「廊下を走ってはいけない」や夏休みの過ごし方にも約束があります。今月は約束を守ることに加えて、なぜ、その約束があるのかも考えてみてほしいと思います。
明日から7月。夏休みも近づいてきました。品をもち、約束を守りながら、引き続き安全に楽しく学校生活を過ごしてほしいです。
