夏の学校の1日目が終わりました。

１日目は、昆虫採集の日です。捕まえた虫は「BIOME」というアプリにグループごとに登録していき、どれだけポイントを稼いだかを競っていきます。

トンボやカエル、バッタなどはたくさんいましたが、それ以外の虫を見つけられたら得点を伸ばしていけるので、明日に期待です。

夕食の後は火起こしです。マッチの火を新聞紙、割り箸を経由して太い薪に火をつけられたら大成功！成功したグループは自分たちの火で花火をして成功を祝いました。

Today was our first day at All Saints Grammar School. We started in the gym and had a morning assembly. All of the students in All Saints Grammar School welcomed us so nicely and warmly. After the assembly, we went to our classroom and had some classes like math and art. Our buddies are very kind and we learned a lot from them. We had a chance to teach Japanese cultural activities like origami. We cannot wait to come to school again tomorrow!

　8/3（土）まで、上野の東京都美術館にて「第73回全日本学生書道展」が開催されています。習字クラブに所属する17名の児童の作品が入賞し、展示されました。のびのびと力強く書かれた力作ばかりです。7/28（日）には、授賞式が行われました。

　２学期には、校内で表彰し、校内作品展でも展示する予定です。 

We arrived at Sydney early in the morning. We had breakfast at a pancake restaurant. We enjoyed eating pancakes and cheeseburgers! After breakfast, we went to Sydney Observatory Hill. We listened to the Aborigine's stories and got to experience face painting, taking pictures with Aboriginal tools, and painting our own boomerangs. Finally in the afternoon, we met our host families. We are so excited to start our homestay and have fun with them!

令和元年度以来の、5年ぶりのオーストラリア国際交流プログラムが始まりました。羽田空港第3ターミナルに集まった20名の子どもたちは、笑顔で友達と話したり同じホームステイ先に滞在するペアの子どうしで挨拶し合ったりするなど、明るい雰囲気の中で搭乗手続きを進めました。大きな荷物を預けたら、いよいよ搭乗ゲートへと進みます。お見送りの家族とは、ここでお別れです。出発を記念しての写真撮影後、それぞれ家族に大きく手を振って、手荷物検査場へと入っていきました。子どもたちが乗った飛行機は、20:07にゲートを出発し20:55に離陸。明朝6:30にシドニーに到着する予定です。

オーストラリアでの子どもたちの様子は、この「しょうわだより」の欄にてお伝えしてまいります。
