現地校3日目の午後の授業と帰りの会の様子です。
充実した一日でありつつも、外でたくさん遊んでくたくたになった子もいるようです。それでもお迎えに来たホストファミリーを見て、どの子も笑顔で駆け寄っていく様子が見られました。

今日は、校内のチャペルに全校児童が集まり、朝礼から一日が始まりました。教会や誕生日にまつわる歌を歌ったり踊ったり、表彰があったり、頑張った児童を称えたり、お祈りをしたり、講話を聞いたりと、盛りだくさんの内容でした。
その後は通常日課となり、各クラスに分かれて、テニスや算数、社会など、さまざまな授業を受けました。
折り紙や日本語にまつわる授業を行うクラスもあり、そこでは昭和の子どもたちが「ミニ先生」として大活躍！バディやクラスメイトに、とても丁寧に、そして優しく教えてあげる素敵な姿がたくさん見られました。
早いもので、現地校での生活も折り返しを迎えました。バディと過ごせる時間を大切にしながら、授業に、遊びに、食事にと、残り2日間の学校生活も思い切り楽しみ、たくさんの素敵な思い出をつくってほしいと思います。

Today, the students started the day with an assembly in the chapel. There was singing, dancing, awards, prayers, and a special talk.
After that, they shared many classes with the Bethany students like tennis, math, and social studies. In origami and Japanese class our students became “Japanese teachers” and taught their buddies Japanese culture.
We are already halfway through our time at Bethany and hope that our students enjoy the last two days making memories with their buddies.

今日は朝から現地校で過ごしました。
それぞれの担当クラスに入り、テニスや手話、リーディング、ライティングなど、さまざまな授業を受けました。休み時間には、サッカーや鬼ごっこをしたり、遊具や紙風船で遊んだりと、バディと楽しそうに過ごす姿が見られました。
また、スナックタイムやランチタイムには、ホストファミリーが用意してくれたランチボックスを外でいただきました。日本とは異なる、オーストラリアならではの食文化も楽しむことができました。
今晩もホストファミリーと楽しい時間を過ごし、素敵な思い出をたくさんつくってほしいと思います。

Today, students spent all day at the school. They joined many classes like tennis, sign language, reading, and writing.
During play time, they enjoyed playing with paper balloons, soccer, and playing tag,with their buddies. They also enjoyed lunch and snack boxes from their host families. We hope they have a wonderful evening with their host families and continue to enjoy their time together!

習字クラブ 表彰式 NEW
7/27(月)〜8/2(日)に上野の東京美術館で、第75回全日本学生書道展覧会が開かれました。
今年の習字クラブ18名が作品を出品し、7/31(金)に表彰式がありました。どの作品も力強く、心のこもった力作です。
学校でも始業式に表彰し、夏季作品展で作品を展示する予定です。

本日早朝、無事にオーストラリアのブリスベン国際空港に到着しました。
空港を出発すると、まずはマウントクーサとボタニカルガーデンを訪れ、オーストラリアならではの動植物を見学しました。豊かな自然に囲まれ、子どもたちは興味津々。カメラのシャッターを切る手も止まりませんでした。
その後、現地校のBethany Lutheran Schoolでランチをいただき、いよいよバディとのご対面です。それぞれのクラスに入り、バディと楽しそうにおしゃべりをしたり、外で一緒に遊んだりする姿が見られました。
放課後には、一家庭ずつホストファミリーへの引き渡しを行いました。今回の出会いを大切にし、それぞれのホストファミリーの一員として、たくさんの素敵な思い出をつくってほしいと思います。
長時間のフライトにもかかわらず、子どもたちは朝から一生懸命頑張りました。今晩はゆっくりと体を休め、また明日から本格的に始まる現地校での生活に備えてほしいと思います。

We arrived safely in Brisbane early this morning.
First, we visited Mount Coottha and the Botanical Garden. The students enjoyed seeing unique Australian nature!
Then, we visited Bethany Lutheran School. We ate lunch with our class buddies and learned together in joint classes. It was a lot of fun!
After school, the students met their host families. We hope they have a wonderful time and make many special memories together.
