オーストラリア国際交流プログラム ５日目：８月７日

今日は、手話・体育・ミュージカル・キリスト教の４つのユニークな授業に、ローテーション形式で参加しました。
手話の授業では、アルファベットの手話を学び、なかには自分の名前を手話で表現できるようになった児童もいました。
体育の授業では、サッカーに取り組み、ドリブルの練習やさまざまなゲームを楽しみました。
ミュージカルの授業では、ウォーミングアップとして “Who is a Leader?” や “2 Pens” といったゲームを行いました。その後は歌を歌ったり、楽譜の読み方を学んだりと、音楽的な活動に取り組みました。
キリスト教の授業では、聖書の一節を音読したあと、安全に配慮した上で、小さな庭に裸足で出て、手や足裏で感じる感触、自然の音や匂いなど、五感を研ぎ澄ませるスピリチュアルな体験を行いました。その後、自分が見たこと感じたことをスケッチブックに表現する活動も行いました。
日本ではなかなか体験できない、特別な授業に数多く触れることができ、新鮮で貴重な一日となりました。
早いもので、明日は現地校での最終日を迎えます。バディと過ごせる残りの時間を大切にしながら、１週間温かく迎えてくれた現地校へ、感謝の気持ちをしっかりと伝える１日にしたいです。

 

Australia Exchange Program – Day 5: August 7

Today, the students joined four classes: Australian Sign Language, P.E., musical drama, and Christian studies. The students were divided into 4 groups and rotated between each class. In Australian Sign Language class, they learned the alphabet. Some students were even able to finger spell their names!
In P.E.,they played soccer. They practiced dribbling and played other games.
In the musical drama class, they did warm-up games like “Who is the Leader?” and “2 Pens.” They also sang songs and learned how to read music.In the Christianity class, they read a part of the Bible. After that, they walked barefoot through a small garden to feel nature and use all five of their senses. Later, they drew pictures in their sketchbooks to show what they felt and saw outside. Today was full of new and fresh experiences.
Tomorrow is the last day at Bethany. We hope the students enjoy it with their buddies. Lastly, we would like to thank the school for such a warm and kind welcome. Thank you!

オーストラリア国際交流プログラム ４日目：８月６日

今日は、校内のチャペルでの朝礼から一日が始まりました。たくさんの歌を歌ったり踊ったり、表彰が行われたり、誕生月の子のお祝いをしたり、お祈りをしたり、講話を聞いたりと、盛りだくさんの内容でした。子どもたちも一人ずつ壇上に呼ばれて表彰を受け、賞状と記念品のプレゼントをいただきました。
その後はバディと一緒に、それぞれの教室に分かれて、レゴ、クッキング、編み物、オーストラリアラグビー、美術など、専科のような移動教室の授業を体験しました。午後には、図書館で英語の読書にも挑戦しました。
そして、学校からいただいた白いTシャツに着替えると、いよいよ待ちに待った「カラーラン」の時間です！カラーランは、学校全体で盛大に行われる行事で、色とりどりに染まりながら走る、障害物競走のようなイベントです。子どもたちはジャンプしたり、泡の中を駆け抜けたり、カラースプレーを浴びたりしながら、晴天のもとゴールを目指して元気いっぱいに走り抜けました。思いきり楽しんで参加している姿がとても印象的でした。このような特別な学校行事に参加させていただいたことは、子どもたちにとっても貴重な経験となりました。

 

Australia Exchange Program – Day 4: August 6

Today started with a morning assembly in the school chapel. We sang and danced to many songs, celebrated birthdays, listened to messages, prayed and watched award presentations. Each of our students also received a certificate and a gift. After that, they joined special classes with their buddies. They were divided into different rooms and tried unique activities like working with LEGOs, cooking, sewing, Australian Rugby, and art. In the afternoon, they also tried reading English books in the library.
Later, they changed clothes and wore white T-shirts provided by the school. Then, it was time for the long awaited Color Run! The Color Run is a big school event! It’s an obstacle race with lots of colorful powders and sprays. The students jumped over obstacles, ran through bubbles, got sprayed with color, and ran happily toward the goal. The weather was perfect for such a fun event. The students had a very good time. Joining this special school event was a wonderful and valuable experience for the students.

 

オーストラリア国際交流プログラム３日目：８月５日

長旅の疲れをホームステイ先で癒し、ホストファミリーに現地校まで送り届けてもらい、バディと過ごす１日が始まりました。
午前中はEnglish Rotationsと呼ばれる活動に取り組みました。グループごとに、リーディングやライティング、ディスカッションなどの英語学習にローテーションで挑戦しました。
外でたくさん身体を動かした後の昼食は、ホストファミリーが用意してくれたランチを外でいただきました。日本のお弁当とは異なる、オーストラリアならではの食文化を楽しみました。
午後は、社会科の問題解決学習に続いて、折り紙の授業に参加しました。折り紙の授業では、コアラやカブト、手裏剣の作り方など、日本文化をバディにやさしく丁寧にレクチャーするすてきな姿が見られました。その姿は、現地校の先生からもお褒めのお言葉をたくさんいただきました。折り紙を使った活動は、今後さらに幅を広げていく予定とのことで、子どもたちのますますの活躍が楽しみです。

 

Australia International Exchange Program – Day 3: August 5

After a long flight and a long day, our students were able to rest at their host families’ homes. In the morning, they were driven to school, and started the day with their buddies.
They joined an activity called ‘English Rotations’, where they worked on reading, writing  and discussion in groups.
After playing on the playground, they had lunch in the sun. The host families had prepared lunch for their students. The students could enjoy Australian food culture, which is different from traditional Japanese lunches. In the afternoon, the students joined a social studies based lesson and then an origami class. During origami, they kindly and carefully taught their buddies how to make koalas, samurai helmets,  ninja stars and more!
The local teachers gave our students many compliments for their wonderful teaching and communication!

 

 

 

8月3日(日)まで、上野の東京都美術館にて「第74回全日本学生書道展」が開催されました。習字クラブに所属する14名の児童の作品が入賞し、展示されました。のびのびと力強く書かれた力作ばかりです。8月2日(土)には、授賞式が行われました。

2学期には校内で表彰し、夏季作品展でも作品を展示する予定です。
